Hello boys and girls. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Happy St Patrick's Day. Here is some St Patrick's Day work to keep you busy for a while.
Thanks to Sylvia Kelly for recording our Christmas play this year. Click on the link below to watch it for yourself.
Our Christmas Play 2019 Here are a few photos of what we have been up in class recently. We have spent a lot of time learning about the Titanic disaster from over 100 years ago. Even though it sank we couldn't believe how it managed to float in the first place so we tested different materials and shaped them to see if this helps with floating. The first time anybody has been this unlucky........4 JOKERS!!
(He was actually very happy because he loves keeping fit!)🦾🦾 We were learning about recording data this week in Maths. We asked our classmates when their birthdays were and sorted them into groups. We played some word Snakes & Ladders for working hard this week. We played some games with our good friend Mr. Static Electricity for his birthday party. He was SHOCKED with all the things we could do with him. Past pupil and Tipperary goalie Brian Hogan paid a visit to our school today with the Liam McCarthy Cup. Tippearary beat Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Final last August. The Tipperary students were very happy. Our Offaly students will have to stay waiting a bit longer. We did an experiment to see which one of our four materials would keep our hot chocolate warmest for the longest amount of time. It turned out that using a sock was best. Just make sure to wash the sock first. Once the experiment was recorded we sat back and enjoyed our hot choc and marshmallows on a cold Winters afternoon. Gymnastics is coming to an end soon. We love our time with Mrs Feehan every Wednesday. Roll on next year! Congratulations to one of our class members on his fantastic achievement over the weekend. We look forward to seeing more.in the future.
Here is the first person in the history of 1st and 2nd class to get 3 Jokers (that's a lot of exercises!!)
Using a ramp we tested how far a toy car would travel on different materials (cardboard, wood, towel, bubblewrap) Now we understand why roads are not made from bubblewrap! 😂😂 2-D shapes trail around our school in search or squares, rectangles, circles, ovals, semi-circles and triangles. We were surprised at just how many shapes we could find. |
